Children in Key Stage One have a French lesson each week in which they build on the confidence they have developed in Early Years. Children are taught new language through actions, games, finger rhymes and songs. The emphasis is on speaking and listening. The use of puppets, a variety of activities and games played in pairs or small groups means that the focus is always on having fun whilst learning new language.

We often associate Drama with Script, Rehearsal, Voice Production and the display of Acting Talent. This type of drama has particular benefits, in that it increases children's self confidence, gives them the opportunity to express themselves in public and appear on stage, which each Croft pupil does every year.
