Forest School
Here at The Croft Preparatory School we are fortunate to have our own extensive Forest School site, which allows all of our pupils to embrace and interact with their natural environment.
Our aims during Forest School sessions are to progress children’s holistic development, and encourage resilience, confidence, independence and creativity. The children are taught important Forest School rules which allow them to participate in child and teacher led activities with independence and energy. They are encouraged to follow their own interests in Forest School, but are also taught new skills to allow them to explore their own ideas and surroundings. The Forest School is used all year round and is a wonderful way for children to witness the wonders of nature and how the environment changes from season to season.
The Forest School is used by all age groups and with the addition of The Croft Cabin allows for other subjects to take advantage of the site.
Forest School sessions are conducted by trained Forest School practitioners, who are first aid trained, along with other supporting teachers.
