Little Crofters Butterflies (2-3 years)
Children can join the 'Butterflies' key group from the age of two (academic year of the child's 3rd birthday). An individually tailored induction programme ensures a smooth transition from home to school, to begin their Early Years learning journey in our caring, nurturing environment. Through imaginative, play-based activities, your child will be encouraged to explore and learn, building positive relationships with peers and adults along the way.
Our 'Butterflies' key group leader is a 'Time To Talk Champion'. She takes the lead on developing excellent practice in early communication and language skills, responding to the needs of children and their families by providing support when needed.
Our specialist Music teacher leads an engaging session with the children weekly, and regular use is made of the School’s grounds and facilities; including Forest School, Sports Hall, Library and Dining Room. This enables the children to familiarise themselves with the School's environment ensuring they take their next steps with ease.
As your child becomes more self-assured, our experienced staff will facilitate enhanced learning experiences to extend your child's development. They will think creatively, make choices, and follow their own initiative to become a confident learner, with regular opportunities to spend time in the Pre-school learning environment.
Children attend ‘Butterflies’ for a minimum of two morning sessions and you can opt your child into any number of afternoon sessions, where there are a wealth of additional learning opportunities, such as French.
